A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

In Monet Heist, you play as Salvador Daring, a wanted criminal on his way to the national museum for a heist! You need to sneak through a complex museum to steal the Golden Duck, a masterpiece created by the renowned artist, Clauda Monet. But beware, you are being monitored by outdated, busted-up surveillance cameras operating around the compound. It's your job to get in and get out without being seen!

Centered around this year's GMTK Game Jam theme, ‘Out of Control’, the team worked together ceaselessly over 48 hours to create a game that we find most befitting of the topic. This manifested as a stealth-puzzle, second-person perspective game that balances both 2D and 3D elements to create a unique experience for all players, titled ‘Monet Heist’ (all puns intended and appreciated).

This game jam was a perfect opportunity for us to exhibit and practice our game development skills, as all assets in the game, from the art to the music composition, had been painstakingly designed by our team, Space Quackers. We did our best to provide a retro user experience and interesting narrative despite the limited production timeline and restrictions.

We had initially created this game for GMTK Game Jam 2020, but we were unable to submit our entry. However, we submitted it for the GMTK Deadline Missers Jam, where we clinched 4th place!

The core of our game was developed during the game jam time frame, but we have since optimised and polished the game in the days that followed (and have plans to add so much more)!

We hope you enjoy the game!

I like the camera POV, its unusual and fun!

I'm new to YouTube and it would help a lot if you leave a like or subscribe if you like the content, also you can request a game by leaving a comment!

I love it, using the unique concept of watching yourself through cameras to give you clues when the guard is about to wake up and put a nice lamp cone on your head to hide. Love these types of games and thank you for making this! 1st game.

I really liked how you viewed your character from security cameras. Unique and fun game.

although the control scheme is difficult to work with (im guessing its intentionally difficult to work with) this is a very neat idea and is quite fun!

I love the idea of this game!

- The presentation is really clever (watch yourself on the security cameras!)

- And really well-done. The sense of that security room being like... a -real place- was great.

- The level design was quite interesting too, a nice tangled knot of connected rooms.

Not sure if this is because of my computer or OS (Mac), but I found that there was some pretty bad input lag, and combined with the already-awkward control scheme I found it borderline unenjoyable to actually play.

The combined frustration of needing several tries to get through every door & constantly being interrupted by the need to hold E every couple of seconds got to be a little too much, so I didn't finish the game.

idk dude just seems fun very recommended

Good game, It was fun to play! I think the police officer should react faster. Or maybe add more difficulty levels into it. Great job! Keep it going

I liked it! So fun, the art looks amazing, well polished! I didn't like just one thing, which is I control the player just with "WASD", so with is I found a lot of difficulty to play the game, because my keyboard is not "WASD". The solution: If you can please add the arrow keys to control the player,! not just with "WASD"!

Thanks for playing and thanks for your feedback! We will actually probably change it to arrow keys to make it more universally understood! :D

Thank you so much! 😊
